Antique Sterling Silver Flask with Cork Top

  

This handsome flask is a perfect present. The flask features a sterling silver overlay with a glass bottom and screw top hinged with a cork bottle stopper. The front is engraved with the initials HGR. The top of the bottle is also engraved with R.

The piece is marked sterling on the hinge and underneath at the base. It appears that the base forms a cup based on others from the period however it is tightly attached. There are a couple of tiny dents in the cap commensurate with age however they do not deter from the overall appearance or functionality. The piece measures just under 4 1/4" in height by about 2" across.
