Antique 19th Century Victorian extremely rare and unusual solid silver-gilt & diamond set perfume bottle atomiser, shaped as a bunch of flowers in a crystal vase, the gilt flowers set inside with old cut diamonds, the silver bouquet is removable and contains the atomiser inside, it ingeniously works by pressing the flower. Hallmarked English Silver (925 Standard), London, year 1884 (I), Maker EHS (Edward H Stockwell). Retailed by Leuchars & Son, 38 & 39 Piccadilly & 2 Rue De La Paix, Paris, Ro21755, comes in the original display case. Established in 1794 by James Leuchars in Piccadilly, London, soon became renowned maker of dressing cases and accesories James died in 1822 and the business was passed down to his widow Lucy and traded under the name L. Leuchars and in 1837 they were awarded the prestigius Royal Warrant for the supply of dressing cases. On the back of this success firm expanded in 1841 taking over the next door premises and the name changed to Lucy Leuchars & Son.

They exhibited in 1851 at the Great Exhibition and again at the International Exhibition of 1862 and their dressing cases won a silver medal at the Paris Exposition of 1867. In 1870 William Leuchars (Son) opened a shop in Paris under the name of Leuchars & Son.

His son, also called William continued the business on when his father died and they won a gold medal at the Paris Exposition in 1878. In Great Condition - No Damage.
